Girl name on foarms with blades
Shock and panic coursed through Oxford English Medium School in Naroda on Tuesday when five boys of class VII were found bleeding. All of them had etched the name of one girl of the same class on their forearms with blades.
Alarm was raised by their class teacher who found blood dripping from the arms of the boys. The matter was reported to the school principal who reportedly thrashed the boys for performing the stunt, creating a hue and cry in the campus.
The principal also summoned the parents of the five students. The parents, said a teacher, agreed that the boys should not have done such a thing which was sure to mentally scare the girl concerned.
The boys, when questioned by teachers and their parents, said that they had marked their arms with a blade just for adventure sake. "We did it for fun," the boys reportedly said.
Meanwhile, one of the five boys refused to call his father, who runs a small locally-printed newspaper. Later, his father filed a non-cognizable complaint with police against the principal for giving corporal punishment to his child.
"The boys were definitely at fault and the incident was of a serious nature. The boys needed to be reprimanded but the principal should have avoided beating the students," trustee of Oxford English Medium School Madanlal Jaiswal said.
