Nasa's robot first handshake

The Commander of the International Space Station, Dan Burbank, has shaken hands with Nasa's Robonaut 2 robot, nicknnamed R2 - the first handshake between a human and a robot in space.
The humanoid robot then said in American sign language, 'Hello World.'
NASA's Robonaut was launched aboard space shuttle Discovery last February. Crews have been testing it to see how it might help with chores on the orbiting space station. 'For the record, it was a firm handshake,' Burbank said. 'Very nice. Nice job on the programming and all the engineering. Quite an impressive robot.'
Robonaut 2 completed its initial testing on the Space Station this week and shook hands with Burbank to 'celebrate'. R2, as the robot is nicknamed, launched to the International Space Station almost a year ago and has been put through a series of tests.
Following the tests, R2 was powered down and put back into storage until time for the robot’s next task.
The suite of cameras in its head not only provide R2’s operators in space and on the ground with a view of what it’s working on, they can also be used by the robot to verify that its work is correct.
