A one-year-old boy was allegedly killed by his father in south Delhi when the latter reportedly "could not bear the child crying nonstop". The incident was reported on Saturday night from Rangpuri Pahari in Vasant Kunj. The accused father is identified as Joginder and has been arrested.
"The incident took place at Inder Camp around 8pm. The man killed his son in a fit of rage because the latter would not stop crying," said a senior police officer. Joginder's wife, Kumitra, was at the neighbourhood market when the incident took place, he added.
"According to Kumitra, Joginder came to the house around 7.30pm on Saturday and asked her to fetch some groceries. He was drunk. She left their son Dev with his father. When she came back, she saw Dev lying on the bed dead," said a senior police officer.
Dev was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he was declared brought dead.
