As soon as it sees potential for a viable market entry for sustainable growth, the company would come into India. The bikes of the Motorrad range may cost above Rs 10 lakh in India. With BMW motorcycles being epitome of motorcycle technology with features like quickshifters, traction control and integrated ABS, its no stranger of them being the first in the world to put an adaptive headlight feature on their bike.
Adaptive headlight or the headlights that turn according to the lean angle or the road curve is not new in the automotive world, with many car makers already featuring similar technology in their cars.
The problem with bikes is – to have a road-legal headlight, the top half of the beam has to be cut off using a suitable reflector so the oncoming drivers don't get blinded with the glare, giving a flat lighting horizon when the bike is vertical. But when bike is taken around corner and is leaned over, the lit-up area tilts with the bike and the rider is unable to see through the corner.
