At least 30 people have been injured in a Hong Kong acid attack.
A bottle containing a corrosive substance was thrown into a busy shopping street on Saturday night in the sixth such attack in a year.
On this occasion nineteen men and 11 women were taken to hospital, with several tourists amongst the victims.
Police surrounded the area of Temple Street in the Yau Ma Tein district where the incident happened. In a major breakthrough in the serial attacks police later arrested a man suspected of being responsible. The man, Chinese, aged betwen 30 and 40, was discovered on a roof in a night market near where the attack took place. He was in possession of tops which police say fit the bottle used in the acide attack.
In a previous incident in December, six people were injured when a bottle of acid was hurled into the crowds at Causeway Bay, as they were celebrating the Hong Kong football team's victory over Japan in the East Asian Games final.
