Iran has asked Russia S-300 surface-to-air missile systems.
Iran has asked Russia to fulfill a major missile contract.
Iran's defence department has asked for the completion of the contract on the supply of S-300 surface-to-air missile systems.
Russia signed a contract with Iran on the supply of S-300's to the Islamic Republic in December 2005, but Russia's Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation has claimed it has not yet started to ship the missiles.
In December 2008, the Iranian media reported that Russia had started delivering some elements of the advanced weapon.
The missiles have a range of up to 195 kilometres and can intercept aircraft and ballistic missiles at altitudes from 10 metres to 27 kilometres.
It is considered one of the world's most effective air defence systems.
