Girls have made their mark in every field and they are in no way inferior to boys and are the future builders of the country, said
state minister for stamps and registration and institutional finance Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi while inaugurating the 50th district level girls athletic competition here on Wednesday.
He assured that all efforts would be undertaken to bring the girls in mainstream of society and local girls would bring laurels for the district and state in the field of sports. The only thing is that they should firmly resolve to accomplish their goals and no doubt hard labour and practise would ensure their victory in all disciplines. Problems should be treated as a challenge which would give them a chance to move ahead, Nandi said.
Earlier the meet was inaugurated by unfurling of the national flag and bursting of crackers and releasing of pair of pigeons. Later, the participants presented an impressive march past for the chief guest which was followed by a colourful cultural programme. Around 24 teams from different schools are taking part in the meet.
