A case has been registered against a man for allegedly cheating a city businessman of Rs 10 lakh by identifying himself as a neighbour of bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, police said.
A case has registered against a Bhilai resident Aseem Sehgal, 51, who allegedly cheated city businessman Umesh Agarwal, 35, said Mr Rajnesh Singh, superintendent of police.
Mr Sehgal took the money from Mr Agarwal on the pretext of helping him buy a plot and a flat adjoining Khan's residence 'Mannat' at throwaway prices, he said.
However, after taking the money Mr Sehgal began to avoid the issue, following which Mr Agarwal registered a case against him, Mr Singh said.
Mr Sehgal has been taken into custody and further investigations are on, he said.
