Saif Ali Khan and director Imtiaz Ali had a not-so-pleasant experience while promoting their film Love Aaj Kal, set for release next Friday, in Ahmedabad. The fans were given an open invitation to come and see their favourite star at a multiplex in the city. No wonder, both Saif and Imtiaz were literally mobbed by fans.The actor was sporting his favourite Dolce & Gabbana shades when he walked in at the venue. However, during the conference, he placed his glares on the dais and spoke to the media. After the event, he got up and left without taking his sun glasses. After going a few paces he remembered his shades and returned to collect them, but they were gone. Someone had nicked them.
Saif however, consoled himself by thinking that it was perhaps a fan who wanted to keep his sun-glasses as a memento.
But what about Imtiaz? Someone picked his pocket and got away with his wallet at the event. That's not memento-taking. That's theft.
Imtiaz says when he was entering the crowded venue, someone filched his wallet. Though the director did not lose much cash, he lost his credit, debit cards and most importantly his license.
However, Imtiaz says the incident hasn't put him off Ahmedabad and he will return again.
