Katrina Kaif was born in Hong Kong to a Kashmiri Muslim father, Mohammed Kaif, and a British Christian mother, Suzzane. Her mother, a Harvard graduate, was a lawyer but later became involved in charity work. Her parents separated when Kaif was very young. Kaif has six siblings. She was raised in Hawaii and later moved to her mother's home country, England. At age fourteen she was approached by an agent and began modeling; her first job was for a jewelry campaign. She continued modeling in London.
A filmmaker Kaizad Gustad, who gave her a part in his film Boom (2003). Katrina saw success with the 2005 film Sarkar where she played the brief role of Abhishek Bachchan's girlfriend. For the movie Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005), where she was paired opposite Salman Khan, earned her an award at the Stardust Award for breakthrough female performance.

Salman and Katrina are a couple and when it comes to marriage, Salman Khan will settle on Katrina Kaif Period.Salman, when asked in an interview to a channel whether Katrina Kaif is the one for him gave a prompt ‘yes’. The actor also indicated that he might walk the aisle sometime next year.This is the first time ever that the actor has gone ahead and entertained any personal questions. This revelation is bound to put an end to all the media speculation about the actor’s stormy liaisons with various starlets. Previously, Sallu and Kat refused to publicly comment on the state of their affair. Katrina had even lashed out at the media for getting too nosy on one instance.
