Philosopher Addressed Online Giants

Largest Internet companies, including Facebook, Google, and Yahoo have been walloped by one of the most famous intellectual heavy weights, philosopher AC Grayling. Mr. Grayling has been claiming that the major Internet companies should be forced to regularly send people reports on what they have got on them.

One of the top British thinkers, Mr. Grayling, told in the interview that this could be a first step in reclaiming people's privacy thoughtlessly given away in the nowadays public seduction by social media. According to Grayling, the "complete anarchy" historically surrounds the initial use of revolutionary communication technologies and it should be brought to order by people wanting boundaries. In fact, humanity is at the very important phase, so the current situation shouldn't be allowed to last for long. Professor Grayling explained that people can tweet about him walking down the street or sitting in a restaurant or on a bus, which he regards as the terrible invasion of privacy.

The philosopher said it's the price people have to pay for living in today's "noisy, messy, quarrelsome democracy". He believes that the press should be allowed to get away with some things as it's a price worth paying for the very important, noble investigative work it performs in the public interest.

However, Mr. Grayling was a bit miffed that the UK government is going to extend state surveillance on the web and even allow secret court hearings at the discretion of politicians in the cases that have relation to national security. Grayling pointed out that civil liberties were under the largest attack, and it was "very thought-provoking'" that the governments are able to hack into citizens' private digital data. The philosopher suggests that the challenge now is to find an internationally agreed regime to protect public's private data without damaging the web and related technologies.
