For the past two years, they have been seeing the cranes going up and down, multiple floors coming up in weeks,
and of late, final touches being given to the world's tallest building. So far, they have had the closest view,
among the general public, of the iconic tower that is going to make history today.They will not have access to attend the grand
opening ceremony of Burj Dubai. Yet, they are excited to the core about the building next-door's historic opening today.
Employees at Souk Al Bahar and Kanoo Travel's office in Burj Dubai Business Square get magnificent views of the multi-purpose
tower every day. Most of them take pride in the fact that they are among the nearest neighbours of the outstanding man-made structure.
"Two years back, when I told my friends and relatives back home in India that our new office is next to Burj Dubai, all of them were very
thrilled," said Deepal Shah, a leisure consultant with Kanoo Group.
"They all asked me to take pictures and send to them. All of us in the office are very excited that the tower is finally getting inaugurated
tomorrow. Since morning, we have been talking about the opening ceremony.
"It's a magnificent building. Being in the leisure and travel industry, I know for sure that the opening of the tower will bring a big boost to
travel and tourism sector here. Burj will definitely be an add-on to the tourist attractions in Dubai. Also,
it will attract more financial activities as hundreds of multi-national companies are vying to open their offices in the world's tallest tower," said Shah.
She said her colleagues and herself were anticipating a spectacular event for the inauguration of the tower.
They are also delighted that the Metro Station at Burj is also getting inaugurated on the same day.
"We are in the middle of these inaugural venues; on one side of us is Burj Dubai and on the other side is the Metro station. But, most likely, we will have to head home early and catch up the function live on TV as there will be many traffic diversions around our office tomorrow," said Shah.
Haitham Gomaa, a customer care staff at Souk Al Bahar, feels the opening of the tower will bring prosperity for businesses. "We are at the heart of the fountain and our customers get the best frontal view of the Burj. We always have lots of visitors, including families and tourists, who come and enjoy the spectacular view of the tower and the fountain. We are expecting a large volume of visitors in the coming days," said Gomaa.
Though he has been seeing the tower from a distance, like any other common man, Gomaa has never got a chance to step inside the amazing building. "I will try to take my five-year-old daughter with me whenever I get a chance to go inside. She is very curious to see the interiors of the building," said the Egyptian national.
The mega construction and real-estate hype will be reduced in the year 2012. Because of the arab government has permitted to construct any thing between 2012. so each and every construction will be ended in 2011 or 2012. After this dubai will be focusing on the trade and other aspects of the economy.
the world's tallest building — will feature a spectacular display of fireworks, light beams, choreographed water displays and sound and music effects that will portray the evolution of the world's most iconic new building in a breathtaking sensory journey.
In all, 868 high-powered stroboscope lights will be integrated into the facade of Burj Khalifa and the tower's spire — and each stroboscope will be operated individually to create a series of hypnotic lighting sequences.
The entire display is controlled by a sophisticated arrangement of ultra-high-tech IT systems, which choreograph at least 50 sequences of lighting, fireworks, water and sound effects.
Event experts from France, Britain and the United States collaborated on the project, demonstrating the global spirit of teamwork which defines Burj Khalifa itself.
Powerful strobelights will be fixed near the pinnacle of the tower, and six "narrow beam" searchlights will be positioned 700 metres up the tower.
The entire inauguration consists of a pre-show and three themed acts — From the Desert Flower to Burj Dubai, Heart Beat, and From Dubai and the UAE to the World — and a fireworks finale.
A giant screen on Burj Park Island as well as several television screens located in Downtown Burj Dubai including the Waterfront Promenade, will convey the inauguration to the spectators.
The international media, including Dubai TV, will broadcast the event worldwide.
The public can watch the inauguration from the Waterfront Promenade adjacent to The Dubai Mall.
The inauguration begins with a short film depicting the story of Dubai and the evolution of the Burj Dubai as the world's tallest building.
The carefully choreographed sound, light, water and fireworks display will follow.
The first act in the light and sound show, themed From the Desert Flower to Burj Dubai, is a co-ordinated water, light and fireworks display.
Guests can watch the unfolding of the desert lily, Hymenocallis, the design inspiration of the Burj Dubai.
The segment ends with a rhythmic water and fireworks show.
The second act, Heart Beat, captures the construction of the tower in a dynamic light show.
An astonishing example of technological innovation, the display recreates the effect of a beating heart and uses no fewer than 300 space cannon projectors to generate a shadow-like image of the tower.
In the third act, From Dubai and the UAE to the World, sky tracers envelop the tower in a strong halo of white light before reproducing the sunbeams of the developer's corporate logo.
These then expand in all directions as the lighting rig on the tower's spire activates.
In its spectacular finale, the show will feature an impressive show of 10,000 fireworks on and from the tower.
The sparkling display will illuminate the entire Downtown Burj Dubai area.
